Back to COMPort Class Summary

The COMPort Class has been deprecated in Zinc 4.0. It is included for legacy support but is no longer maintained and maybe removed completely in a future 4.x update.

Availability
Windows

Usage
mdm.COMPort.send(value:String):Void

Parameters
value:String - Data to send

Returns
Nothing

Description
Sends a string through the serial port. This command also allows you to send HEX data in the form of a delimited list of integer values.

Notes
If you wish to send null (String.fromCharCode(0) or '\x00') you will need to send that by using the delimited list style syntax as shown below. You cannot send null on its own using this command.

Example Code
// SEND STRING DATA
mdm.COMPort.send("This is my Content");
// SEND HEX DATA
mdm.COMPort.send("0|172|0|128");
