Back to Application Class Summary

Windows, Mac OSX, Linux

mdm.Application.setEnvVar(varName:String, varValue:String):void

varName:String - The environment variable name

varValue:String - Value to set

Sets (or creates if not declared), an environment variable to the specified value. You could use that method to set variable in application process that could be later read by other application started from application process or from other application window. In that case you would use mdm.Application.getEnvVar(...) to read that variable value.

This command will not set a system wide environment variable. Environment variables set using this methods can only be retrieved from the application.

Example Code
//Sets an environmental variable called 'myEnvVar' with the value "Zinc":
mdm.Application.setEnvVar("myEnvVar", "Zinc");
