Multidmedia have teamed up with some of the biggest names in Flash to bring a unique contest for the Flash & Zinc Community - ZincGameDev '07! We're looking for the very best Desktop Games developed in Flash and Zinc, and together with our Contest Sponsors, are offering the winner a Flash Software Goodie Bag worth over $1000 and a Sony PSP Portable Games Console!

How to Enter

We're looking for participants to send us their Flash/Flex Games which make the most innovative and creative use of the Desktop via MDM Zinc 2.5. Games should be developed with the desktop in mind and make the most out of combining Flash/Flex (or any other SWF Authoring Software) with Zinc. You don't have to provide us with a full 20 level game, just 1 level which gives us a taste of your concept will be fine! We're looking for originality and the best integration of Flash and Zinc to enhance the gaming experience.

Entry Guidelines

  • Games must be compiled for the Desktop with MDM Zinc 2.5 and make use of {mdm}Script (Trial Versions of Zinc are available Here)
  • Games must be developed in Flash, Flex or any other SWF Authoring Software (Eg. SwishMax)
  • Games do not have to be complete, but must provide enough to get an understanding of the game concept and mechanics.
  • The theme of the Game is up to you but you must build the game specifically for the desktop.
  • If required, the MDM logo can be downloaded from our Press Kit http://www.multidmedia.com/company/press/ - MDM Fonts can be downloaded Here.
  • The winning entry will be chosen by our Panel of Judges - this is your chance to get your work infront of Industry Experts!
  • The Deadline for submission is August 25th 2007.
  • Entrants are allowed to enter more than once.
  • The Judges decission is final!

Jobe Makar, Electrotank.com
Jobe Makar is the lead game programmer and co-owner of Electrotank, Inc., and winner of several international game awards. The creator of more than 150 Flash games, Jobe has been working with Flash since version 3. He has authored or co-authored several books on Flash, including Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Game Design Demystified. Jobe has worked on games for clients such as MTV, Comedy Central, and Mattel. Jobe currently lives with his wife and entirely too many animals in Elm City, North Carolina.

Jonathan Moore, 2Advanced.com
Jonathan Moore has worked in the design and development industry for over eight years. Starting with his own freelance studio in Dallas, Texas, he primarily served a number of local and international companies in addition to various non-profit organizations. Since that time he has worked on a wide range of projects that have spanned print campaigns, interactive marketing, environmental design, and video production. In the fall of 2004, Jonathan moved to Southern California to join forces with 2Advanced Studios. As a Senior Art Director for 2Advanced, he plays a vital role in the design process along with the final implementation of client-side technologies using Flash and web-standards based XHTML/CSS.
