It’s here…
After 18 Months of Research, Development and even more Development, Zinc 3.0 is finally available for Windows and Mac OSX (GUI) and Windows, Mac OSX and Linux (Projector Output).
The entire MDM Team has worked incredibly hard to hit our January Deadline and whilst we had to leave a few minor features and non-critical fixes out of the Release Builds, we’ll be picking up the slack again very soon and ensuring that any teething problems found will be ironed out as soon as humanly possible.
Oh, and we’ve also uploaded our brand new Website to go along with the release of Zinc 3.0! Our previous site did us proud for almost 4 years and we’re completely smitten with our new look website - I hope you guys like it also
The Forums will be “re-jigged” over the next couple of days and the new “3.0″ sub-forms will be open for business soon enough.
Thank you to all of our users who have patiently been waiting for the new version of Zinc and Thank You to everyone who helped in the Private and Public Betas.
Enjoy using Zinc 3.0! ![]()

First of all congratulations on the new release - great work on the Builder, it really looks and feels professional.
However from the developer’s perspective this means little to any of us. API’s and event model in the new Zinc 3 are virtually unchanged from the last version and documentation for the existing features is nowhere close to complete. That should really frustrate the new users who expect your product to be somewhere above “beta” level.
I understand that most of these API decisions are done to enable compatibility with Zinc v2 and AS2 projects but technologies have long gone ahead and we need to see MDM innovate to catch up with the rest.
Are there any plans to revamp / improve the current API and event models to enable greater compatibility with AS3 projects?

@Paulius Uza
Yes, ofcourse. Now that the Zinc 3.0 “architecture” is out and available, we can start to really expand on the API and, best of all, due to the nature of the new command modularization, we can quickly extend the API without affecting other areas of the Zinc Projector.

@J
Thanks for the answer, that’s really good to know for a start. Are you planning an open discussion about this topic in the v3 forums? I would like to share some insight on this matter.
